David Caceres has big band blood. His grandfather led a swing band in San Antonio in the 1930s, and his great uncle played sax with Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman. He has played with Wynton Marsalis and Kirk Whalum, and on a Grammy-winning record by La Mafia. For Christmas he leads from the sax and hands the carols to Aisha Ussery, a Houston stage singer.

Caceres fronts a 12-piece big band on alto sax and vocals. His grandfather, Emilio Caceres, led a swing orchestra in San Antonio in the 1930s. His great uncle Ernie played sax and clarinet with Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, and Woody Herman. David trained at Berklee and teaches at HSPVA and the University of Houston. He has played with Wynton Marsalis and Kirk Whalum, and on La Mafia's Grammy-winning album Un Millón de Rosas.
Aisha Ussery comes to the band from the theatre. She has directed shows at The Ensemble Theatre and was in the cast of Cinderella and Mary Poppins at Theatre Under The Stars. She has sung with this orchestra at Doc's before. Here she takes the Christmas songs at swing tempo, with the horns behind her.
