Houston-based chamber jazz group Avec Ensemble brings the sound of Rio de Janeiro to life in an evening of lush, intimate, and rhythmically captivating music. Celebrating the timeless songs of Antônio Carlos Jobim and João Gilberto, the group presents fresh arrangements that highlight the warmth, elegance, and unmistakable groove of bossa nova.
Featuring favorites like The Girl from Ipanema, Desafinado, and Corcovado, the program invites audiences into a world of late-night melodies, shimmering textures, and effortless swing. With a saxophone-forward sound inspired by the sultry style of Stan Getz, Avec Ensemble delivers warm, expressive melodies and lush, beautifully layered arrangements that capture the spirit of the bossa nova era.

About Doc's Houston
Doc's is Houston's premier supper club and live music venue, set inside Montrose's historic Tower Theatre and is a 1936 movie palace whose stage has hosted legends from Ella Fitzgerald to Leon Russell. Opened in 2025 by bandleader and pianist Doc Watkins, the club brings the golden era of the supper club back to Westheimer. Live music runs Tuesday through Saturday, from Doc Watkins and his orchestra to world-class touring artists. Every show in the showroom is an intimate, ticketed concert with reserved seating and attentive table service from the first note to the last.
