Battle of the Jazz Bands!
Thu, Oct 01
Two elite jazz quartets enter. Every solo counts. The winner is anyone’s guess.
Equal parts concert and comedy, "Battle of the Jazz Bands" is a wildly entertaining new way to experience jazz, played by seriously talented musicians who are very much in on the joke. Led by Doc Watkins, this live showdown puts brilliant jazz players head-to-head in a performance where anything can happen, and probably will.
Solos will be challenged. Rules may appear out of nowhere. Audience members might influence the outcome. And through all the surprise twists, musical curveballs, and onstage chaos, one thing is certain: the jazz will be GREAT.
Representing the home turf, Doc’s House Band, led by Graeme Francis. Crossing city lines to challenge them, coming all the way from San Antonio, the Jazz, TX House Band led by Brandon Guerra!
Our kitchen and bar will be open, serving up chef-crafted dishes and handcrafted cocktails to make your night complete. Come hungry, the food’s as good as the music!
See you at the battle!
About Doc's Houston
Doc's is Houston's premier supper club and live music venue, set inside Montrose's historic Tower Theatre and is a 1936 movie palace whose stage has hosted legends from Ella Fitzgerald to Leon Russell. Opened in 2025 by bandleader and pianist Doc Watkins, the club brings the golden era of the supper club back to Westheimer.
