A two-time OffBeat "Best Saxophone" winner, Clarence Johnson III has spent three decades channeling the soul of his native New Orleans, from Congo Square rhythms and Mardi Gras Indian chants to brass band swagger, into a voice entirely his own. He's shared the stage with Aretha Franklin, Dr. John, and The Neville Brothers, and appeared alongside Jamie Foxx in Ray.
For this performance, Clarence is joined by a hand-picked Houston trio, Joy Bloom on piano, Chad Wesselkamper on bass, and Graeme Francis on drums, for an evening of soul-drenched jazz fusion drawn from his acclaimed album Watch Him Work and his own interpretations of the classics.
Expect a masterclass in tone, groove, and storytelling from one of the Crescent City's most decorated musical voices.

About Doc's Houston
Doc's is Houston's premier supper club and live music venue, set inside Montrose's historic Tower Theatre and is a 1936 movie palace whose stage has hosted legends from Ella Fitzgerald to Leon Russell.
