Doc's brings the 18-piece Woody Witt Big Band back for select nights through the year. They play the entire Cowboy Bebop score live, in new charts by Jamie Langan for a full jazz orchestra. It is built on what Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts recorded for the anime: hard-bop horns, a Latin rhythm section, and a torch song or two. Scenes from the show run the whole set on Doc's ten-foot by twenty-four-foot screen. Watch Spike and Faye chase bounties while the band plays "Tank!" and "Space Lion" behind them. Woody Witt calls Cowboy Bebop one of the clearest crossings of jazz and pop culture there is. Early and late shows run back to back, same band, same score.
About Doc's Houston
