Kyle Turner and Friends is a saxophone night with a changing guest list. Kyle was on the bill the week Doc's opened its doors in 2025, and he returns with a guest beside him.
He began touring with Luther Vandross and Johnnie Taylor after Jackson State, then moved to Austin in the early 1990s and held residencies at clubs on 6th Street. He has made five CDs, including It's Time and Wrapped Tight, and has played and recorded with Bobby Lyle, Marion Meadows, Joe Sample and Kirk Whalum. When he is not leading his own band, he plays on stage with Regina Belle.
The guest is how you pick a night. Joe Carmouche brings a guitar, and Tea J. Moore and Regina Hearne each bring a voice. Hearne has performed at The Wortham, Ensemble Theater and Theatre Under The Stars.
About Doc's Houston
Doc's is Houston's premier supper club and live music venue, set inside Montrose's historic Tower Theatre and is a 1936 movie palace whose stage has hosted legends from Ella Fitzgerald to Leon Russell.
