Lone Star Lyric brings the Broadway songbook to Doc's with a jazz band behind it. The room is small enough that you hear every word.
Kelli Estes, Stephonne Smith, Alan Simmons, Ernesto Vega and Doc's own Graeme Francis join Rob Hunt, the company's longtime music director, at the piano. The night moves through "Show Boat," "Guys and Dolls," "Gypsy," "Cabaret," "Chicago," "Smokey Joe's Cafe," "Wicked" and "The Lion King," each with a fresh jazz twist. Lone Star Lyric has made opera and musical theater in Houston since 2006, and its 20th season closed at Doc's with Sondheim's "Follies."
About Doc's Houston
Doc's is Houston's premier supper club and live music venue, set inside Montrose's historic Tower Theatre and is a 1936 movie palace whose stage has hosted legends from Ella Fitzgerald to Leon Russell.
