The David Caceres Orchestra Featuring Kamil Bonner

Sat, Oct 10

David Caceres comes from a family of bandleaders. His grandfather led a swing band in San Antonio in the 1930s. His great-uncle went further, playing sax with Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman. Caceres studied music at Berklee. He then came home to Houston and built his own name. Along the way, he has taught at HSPVA and the University of Houston. He has also shared stages with Wynton Marsalis, Kirk Whalum, and Paquito D'Rivera. Bonner trained as a singer in Arkansas. For this show, Caceres leads his 12-piece band behind her. Together they build a night out of Sarah Vaughan and Nina Simone.
