Raquel Cepeda is a Houston-based jazz singer and songwriter who brings global rhythms to the refined aesthetics of jazz. Deeply connected to Brazilian culture through her husband, a São Paulo native, Cepeda has emerged as one of Houston's premier interpreters of Brazilian music. Her solo album "Passion" spent eight consecutive weeks at #1 on the Roots Music Report Jazz chart and earned a "Best Jazz Album" nomination at the Pepsi Music Awards.

She is a native Venezuelan, a former oil industry geologist, and a highly regarded vocalist who has shared the stage with jazz legends like Ellis and Delfeayo Marsalis.
For her upcoming performance at Doc's, Cepeda fronts a stellar ensemble that effortlessly shifts from the intimate hush of bossa nova to the fiery swing of samba. This all-star lineup features pianist Barry Sames, bassist Thomas Helton, drummer Adriano Santos, percussionist Jesus Pacheco, saxophonist Ernesto Vega, and guitarist Stephan Badreau. Together, these exceptional musicians bring a heartfelt, deeply collaborative energy to the stage.
About Doc's Houston
Doc's is Houston's premier supper club and live music venue, set inside Montrose's historic Tower Theatre and is a 1936 movie palace whose stage has hosted legends from Ella Fitzgerald to Leon Russell.
