The Round Midnight Sessions: The Other Side of New Orleans
Fri, Jun 19

When Bourbon Street fades into neon noise, Frenchmen Street begins to breathe.
Following Doc’s high-energy New Orleans set, "The Other Side of New Orleans" moves the night to Frenchmen Street, where street horns and second lines give way to dimly lit clubs, upright pianos, and musicians locked into conversations only the room can hear. Outside, the glow of Frenchmen Street hums; inside, the music slows down and tells the truth.
Rooted in the language of Ellis Marsalis, James Black, the Batiste family, and Allen Toussaint, this set explores the late-night repertoire of New Orleans, piano tradition, deep jazz cuts, and soulful compositions shaped in after-hours rooms rather than parade routes.
