EL SWING: An Evening of Flamenco Jazz Cover

Arte Puro's Flamenco-Jazz Trio, featuring flamenco dancer Ana María Barceló and Joe Jenkins on winds.

Step into a Spanish night at Doc's, discover how the fire and feel of flamenco music fusions with the dynamics and freshness of jazz. What started as Andalusian jazz with Pedro Iturralde or Paco de Lucía turns into the art of flamenco-jazz carried out by today's masters.

Arte Puro's Flamenco-Jazz Trio is a group founded by percussionist Jesús Pacheco, with Thanushka Bandara on piano and Anthony McKinney on bass; exploring where cante and flamenco rhythms meet improvisation and passionate solos. At Doc's they'll be joined by Ana María Barceló, whose footwork becomes another instrument, and whose movements provide color and expression to the music of the band, and Joe Jenkins on Woodwinds, bringing traditional jazz instruments into the realm of the letra

and the cantaor.

The Spanish call it EL SWING o DUENDE: the rhythm takes over, the feeling expressed through music with no end... Flamenco... impossible to look away from.

Our kitchen and bar will be open, serving up chef-crafted dishes and handcrafted cocktails to make your night complete. Come hungry, the food’s as good as the music!
