Pop Gets Jazzed!

Prepare for a whirlwind trip through a century of pop music! From Broadway and Hollywood, to the Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Nirvana! The Graeme Francis Trio, featuring Jose Miguel Yamal on keys and David Craig on bass, will guide the audience through an exciting, interactive performance examining the overlap between jazz, America’s original art form, and popular songs we all know and love. Jazz was the popular music of the 30’s-50’s, when Doc’s Houston was known as the Tower Theatre, and over the years, it hosted a wide variety of musical acts. Come see how jazz has used popular music as a springboard for its own development and celebrate the legacy of this great building! Our kitchen and bar will be open for dinner service!
