The Drew Johnson Quartet

Drew Johnson is a professional vibraphonist, band leader, composer, and educator who has been on the scene in Philadelphia, Oakland, and now Houston for the last 15 years. His music comes out of the jazz tradition while being drenched in the blues, gospel, soul, and other black musics. He also has an extensive background in classical music and composition, which comes through in his writing. Drew realizes the importance of creating moments while on stage that push into spirituality, striving to bring the crowd to a collective effervescence, merging the listeners and performers into a celebration of the beauty of music, art, and life.
