Doc's Presents: A Tribute to Buena Vista Social Club with Jose Amador and NATIAO! Cover

Step into the vibrant heart of 1940s Havana and experience the incredible true story that inspired the Oscar-winning 1999 documentary by Wim Wenders, “Buena Vista Social Club.” This is more than a concert. It’s an emotional, exhilarating journey that celebrates resilience, rediscovery, and the unifying power of music. Overflowing with passion, rhythm, and soul, this unforgettable tribute honors Cuban music and one of the most remarkable second acts in musical history. The dance floor will be open all night for dancing! Jose Amador is a Puerto Rico-born musician, percussionist and bandleader, and a passionate advocate for Latin jazz and salsa music. Originally from Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, Amador’s life weaves together rich threads of military service, professional leadership, and artistic expression. Before pursuing his music career full-tilt, he served more than 20 years in the U.S. Army as an intelligence officer and paratrooper. Amador’s musical ethos can be summed up by his own words: “Jazz is my passion; Salsa is in my Soul.” This fusion of heartfelt expression and rhythmic fire has defined his long-running presence on the Texas music scene. NATIAO is the band through which Amador brings that vision to life. This dynamic ensemble blends Latin jazz sophistication with the infectious drive of salsa, creating music that invites audiences to move and connect. Over the years, NATIAO has become a staple of the Alamo City’s live music scene, with regular appearances at venues like Jazz, TX at Pearl, where their energetic performances continue to draw devoted crowds. Our kitchen and bar will be open, serving up chef-crafted dishes and handcrafted cocktails to make your night complete. Come hungry, the food’s as good as the music! See you at the show!
